Brittany graduated in May 2011 and started her career as a SPED-General educator at an elementary school in West Philadelphia. While at the school, Brittany became the head technology trainer which led her to work at an Education Technology Company. Brittany started off as a help desk engineer but as time and skills grew, she became the Director of Digital Implementations. With this path, she took a leap of faith and applied at Comcast. This opportunity led her to where she is today, starting an OSPO within the FINTECH world. Brittany was incredibly nervous to make a jump from teacher to a role that she knew very little. This was her initial trepidation towards making the leap, but then she discovered the PM space which shares a lot of common skills with education. Setting nerves aside and leaning in, she now gets to work with great people and was immediately welcomed, understood, open to be herself throughout the transition. If anyone feels nervous about making these decisions, she says to not be. It is safe to jump into something new because you will always learn and grow. Her advice is to not be stagnant, keep moving and thriving. This talks goal is to share a story about growth, leaning into the unknown and having faith in your skills.
